Another day, another Stellantis-based van with an AdBlue issue — one of the most common problems we see here at Kernowsport.
This Vauxhall Combo 1.5D from Penryn came to us with the dreaded AdBlue no-start warning, something we’ve seen dozens of times before. The same problem affects a whole family of vans built under the Stellantis group, including the Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo, and Fiat Doblo — all sharing the same Renault-derived 1.5D engine and ECU platform.
🔧 Common Stellantis AdBlue Issues
The AdBlue systems on these vehicles are notoriously unreliable. Owners often experience:
- 🚫 “No Start in 0 Miles” countdown messages
- ⚠️ Persistent engine management lights
- 💡 AdBlue level or sensor faults that refuse to clear
- 🧯 Fault codes linked to the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system
Even when the AdBlue tank is full, the car can still go into no-start mode, leaving drivers stranded.
At Kernowsport, we specialise in resolving these problems properly — at the ECU level — ensuring the fix is permanent and not just a temporary reset.
You can learn more about how we do this on our AdBlue Delete & Repairs page.
🛠️ The Penryn Combo Fix
This particular 2019 Vauxhall Combo had been problematic for months, throwing up repeated AdBlue warnings before finally refusing to start altogether.
We’ve done so many of these that we could probably remove the ECU blindfolded! Thankfully, it’s one of the easier units to work on, though it comes with one annoying quirk — after refitting the ECU, the immobiliser requires a 20-minute wait period before the vehicle can be restarted.
That means we sit tight, resist the urge to start it early (or we’d have to restart the timer!), and wait patiently for the van’s electronics to sync back up. Once the timer expires, the Combo fires straight up — fault-free and running perfectly.
Another AdBlue problem solved, another local business owner back on the road.
