We recently gave our ex-BT Fiat Ducato a much-needed performance boost. The standard 2.0L 2017 model comes with just 115BHP – the entry-level engine in the Ducato range – and it really shows when climbing hills. It’s a solid van, but a little sluggish, especially when fully loaded.
This model, like most Ducato, Boxer, and Relay vans, requires the ECU to be removed for tuning – a bit of a hassle, but it comes with benefits. Removing the ECU allows us to take a full backup of the original software, which is always handy if a rollback is ever needed.
While it may look like open-heart surgery for your van, ECU removal on the Ducato is fairly straightforward. And the results speak for themselves: we boosted the power from 115BHP to a lively 190BHP – a transformation you can really feel on the road.
We also carried out a DPF regeneration and removed the factory speed limiter, giving the van a much smoother and more responsive drive.
If you’ve got a Fiat van that’s feeling underpowered, this is a great reference point for what’s possible. Get in touch to unlock your van’s full potential.
