Our second job of the day was a great local one — a 2.0 Audi A4 Avant from Redruth, brought in to Kernowsport for a DPF delete and Stage 1 performance remap. The owner had been experiencing intermittent engine management lights, with fault codes indicating injector and glow plug problems. However, these weren’t the true cause — the real issue was excessive back pressure from a blocked DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). This is a common issue we see on a lot of vehicles: the sensors detect pressure problems caused by a blocked filter and wrongly assume a hardware fault. Once the DPF is cleared or deleted and the pressure normalised, these “false” injector or glow plug errors usually disappear entirely. ⚙️ DPF Delete & Power Boost After diagnosing the issue, we carried out a DPF delete and reprogrammed the ECU to safely remove the system from the vehicle’s software. With the blockage removed, we took the opportunity to give the car a Stage 1 performance remap.
