Today’s job was as straightforward as they come: a Stage 1 performance remap on a diesel Audi Q3 in Goonhavern, just outside Perranporth. Our first job of the day took us on a scenic drive up to Calstock, near Plymouth, to visit our friend and repeat customer, Julian. We’ve previously tuned his Mercedes Vito and Mercedes Sprinter, and this time he invited us back to take a look at his latest pride and joy—a very special VW Transporter camper conversion. A Transporter Like No Other We expected a standard T5 conversion, but when we arrived, we were met with something far more unique. This vehicle began life as a 2007 2.5TD VW T5 chassis cab, later lengthened and fitted with a substantial custom camper rear end. This wasn’t your average conversion—it included everything from extended living space to a full stand-up shower. It offered the practicality and reliability of a Transporter, with the comfort normally reserved for much larger motorhomes. A proper one-off. The first job of Saturday morning was something truly special — a Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 that rolled into Hayle for a bit of Kernowsport tuning magic. This car is a rare sight on Cornish roads — not only because of its American muscle heritage but also because it’s one of the few right-hand-drive Mustangs in the UK. With almost 500BHP from the factory, the 5.0-litre V8 already makes its presence known — but there’s always room for improvement. ⚙️ Custom ECU Remap for the Mustang V8 The owner wanted to fine-tune performance and add some personality to the exhaust note, so we set about creating a custom ECU remap tailored to the vehicle’s setup. The remap took the Mustang from its stock configuration down to 430BHP, but that’s not the full story — the pops and bangs tune was the highlight, perfectly matched with its aftermarket exhaust system.
