Kernowsport Diagnostics & Tuning – Viezu-Approved Mobile ECU Remapping Services in Hayle, Cornwall

This Audi TT 2.0 TDI was a last-minute, urgent call-out, after the owner had physically removed the DPF—but didn’t realise that the ECU software also needs to be updated. Without the software delete, the car immediately dropped into limp mode, making it barely driveable.

Fortunately for the owner, this job turned out to be right on our doorstep in Angarrack near Hayle, just minutes from Kernowsport HQ.

Physical DPF Removal Isn’t Enough

This is a common scenario we see across VW and Audi diesel models:

  • DPF physically removed
  • ECU software still expects it to be present
  • Result: fault codes, limp mode, reduced power

Once we connected, it was clear this Audi needed a proper ECU DPF delete, followed by recalibration to restore normal operation.

You can learn more about this service on our DPF Delete page.

A Rare Diesel Audi TT

We’ve remapped plenty of Audi TTs over the years, from entry-level petrol models right up to the V6 variants, but this was the first diesel TT we’ve worked on.

Despite being rare, it shares much of its DNA with other VW Group 2.0 TDI engines, which makes it a straightforward OBD job using our KESS 3 tuning system.

Stage One Remap for Real-World Cornwall Driving

Once the DPF software was correctly removed, we took the opportunity to install a stage one performance remap, transforming how the car drives:

  • Limp mode fully resolved
  • Stronger mid-range torque
  • Improved throttle response
  • Much happier pulling up Steamers Hill and Cornish A-roads

From struggling to move, to a properly responsive Audi TT, all in a single visit.

Working on Your Own Car? We’re Happy to Advise

This job is a perfect example of why software matters just as much as hardware. If you’re working on your own vehicle and something doesn’t behave as expected afterwards, it often needs ECU calibration to match the changes.

When you carry out as many Stellantis vans as we do, it can be hard to find something new to say—but that in itself tells the story. This job was a Vauxhall Combo 1.5 diesel in Whitemoor, near St Austell, and it was a textbook example of why these vans make up such a large part of our workload at Kernowsport. Mitsubishi L200 running cleanly after DPF and oil-related faults resolved.

Mitsubishi L200 DPF Delete & Emissions Fault Diagnosis – Mount Hawke, Cornwall

We’ve worked on several Mitsubishi L200 diesels over the years, but this one was a great reminder that not every fault is caused by the most obvious problem. We were called out to our friends at Lockley Contracting in Mount Hawke, near Porthtowan, to carry out a DPF delete on a customer’s Mitsubishi L200. The software work was completed successfully—but the vehicle was still displaying emissions faults and a regeneration warning light. Why the Regen Light Didn’t Clear On certain Mitsubishi L200 models, the DPF regeneration warning is not triggered by the DPF itself. Instead, it’s caused by: When a vehicle repeatedly attempts to regenerate, diesel can pass into the oil, increasing the oil level. Once this happens, no amount of ECU coding alone will clear the warning light. The Correct Fix: Software + Mechanical Work To fully resolve the issue, the following steps were required: ✔️ Physical oil and filter change✔️ Oil service reset✔️ DPF regeneration warning reset Only once the oil level was corrected would the ECU allow the regen warning to clear. As a bonus, the oil change also eliminated excessive smoke, which had been caused by diesel-diluted oil burning off. 👉 Learn more about our DPF

Citroën Berlingo back on the road after AdBlue issue resolved.

Citroën Berlingo AdBlue Countdown Returns After Dealer ECU Update – Newquay

This job was number two out of four Stellantis vans in a row suffering from AdBlue problems—and a great example of why experience and proper diagnostics matter. This Citroën Berlingo 1.5D in Newquay was a vehicle we had previously resolved successfully. Unfortunately, after a visit back to the main dealer for an unrelated issue, the dealer performed an ECU software update, which effectively restored the factory AdBlue countdown. Why Dealer Updates Can Undo AdBlue Solutions Modern vehicles store emissions logic entirely in software. When a dealer: …it can overwrite previous modifications, including AdBlue, DPF or EGR solutions. One visit later, we returned to Newquay and reapplied our proven AdBlue solution, fully resolving the issue once again and getting the van back to work without downtime. 👉 Learn more about our AdBlue Delete Services for Citroën, Peugeot and Vauxhall vans. Warning Lights Don’t Always Mean the Same Fault A key point we always explain to customers: ⚠️ Engine and emissions warning lights are not fault-specific A warning light may appear due to: Most modern diesels run three separate emissions systems, each capable of triggering a warning light independently. Seeing a light does not automatically mean the original problem has returned. Professional

Isuzu Grafter N35 running again after AdBlue fix by Kernowsport.

Isuzu Grafter N35 AdBlue No-Start Fixed – UK-Wide Specialist Solution

Today’s one and only job was a little special—and not just because it took us all the way to Bromley, London. This customer had already tried ten different tuning companies and multiple Isuzu dealers before finally finding Kernowsport. At the time of writing, we—and our calibration partners at Viezu—are confident we are the only company in the UK currently offering a proven AdBlue solution for the Isuzu D-Max Grafter N35. A True Two-ECU AdBlue System The Isuzu Grafter N35 is not a straightforward vehicle. It runs: Both ECUs require bench programming for a complete and reliable solution. That investment of time is exactly why we can now resolve these vehicles quickly, safely and repeatably. Peugeot Expert 1.6D near Fowey with AdBlue countdown warning.

Peugeot Expert AdBlue Repair Near Fowey – Keeping Work Vans Moving

Number three out of four in this recent run of Stellantis vans brought us deep into the woods near Fowey for an urgent AdBlue countdown issue on this Peugeot Expert 1.6D. Like many of the vans we see, this one wasn’t a weekend toy—it was a working vehicle, and an important one at that. The owner was due to head off on a long work trip to the Orkney Islands, but an AdBlue warning threatened to derail the whole plan. AdBlue Countdown? Don’t Panic One of the most common concerns we hear is panic around AdBlue countdown messages. The good news is: As long as the vehicle is already running, it will continue to run until it’s switched off again—even with an active countdown. This means: That’s exactly what happened here—the owner got the van to us in time, and we were able to resolve the issue quickly and correctly. 👉 For more guidance, see our AdBlue Diagnostics & Delete Services. A Familiar Issue on Stellantis Vans The Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch, Berlingo, Partner and Vauxhall Combo all share common AdBlue and SCR system weaknesses. At this point, many owners see it as an inevitable annoyance rather than a surprise

AdBlue SCR system reset on Citroën Berlingo diesel van.

Citroën Berlingo AdBlue Repair Near Landrake – Another Stellantis Success

If it feels like we’re seeing a lot of Citroën Berlingos, Dispatches and other Stellantis vans lately… it’s because we are. This 2017 Citroën Berlingo 1.5D, with over 100,000 miles, was the fourth Stellantis van in just two days—and the sixth this week—all requiring AdBlue system repairs. This one was located deep in the countryside near Landrake, but thanks to careful route planning we had literally just come from another Berlingo near Fowey. Cornwall mileage at its finest. IMGHyundai Santa Fe diesel in Bodmin undergoing AdBlue fault diagnosis.”

Hyundai Santa Fe AdBlue Fault – Advanced ECU Diagnosis in Bodmin

Occasionally, a vehicle arrives that isn’t quite what it seems—and those are the jobs where experience, process and the right tools really matter. This Hyundai Santa Fe diesel met us in Bodmin, having travelled up from Plymouth, with what initially appeared to be a straightforward AdBlue countdown issue. On the surface, it looked like a routine fix. In reality, it turned into a perfect example of why proper diagnostics are essential. OBD Connection Failure – When Things Don’t Add Up Despite multiple attempts, we were unable to communicate with the ECU via the OBD port, something that immediately raised red flags. When this happens, our next step is always a bench read, allowing us to access the ECU directly. Once removed, the ECU told its own story. It had been marked in pen, a common sign that an ECU has been previously replaced or modified. After discussing this with the owner, they explained the vehicle had: That was only part of the story. The Real Issue – Incorrect ECU Fitted During analysis, we discovered the ECU wasn’t even from a Santa Fe at all, but from a completely different Hyundai model. This explained: Once the correct configuration was identified, the

Doosan DL320 AdBlue Delete for Plant Machinery in Pool, Redruth

Many people know Kernowsport for car and van remapping, but did you know we also work on HGV, plant machinery, agricultural equipment, marine engines and motorcycles? This recent job took us to Harts Haulage in Pool, Redruth, where we were asked to diagnose and resolve an AdBlue fault on a Doosan DL320 loading shovel—a far more unusual piece of kit than we normally see on the road, but very much in our comfort zone. Intermittent AdBlue Fault Causing No-Start Issues The DL320 was suffering from an intermittent AdBlue-related fault, causing it to refuse to start or cut out during operation. As this machine is used exclusively off-road within the yard, downtime was having a direct impact on productivity. In this case, the manufacturer themselves had recommended removing the AdBlue system, a solution commonly adopted on off-road and industrial equipment to improve reliability. After discussing the options with the customer, we proceeded with a full software-based AdBlue delete, permanently resolving the issue. 👉 Learn more about similar services on our AdBlue Delete page. Specialist Bench ECU Programming for Plant & HGV Plant and heavy machinery like this Doosan DL320 are almost always bench jobs, rather than programmed through a diagnostic port.

BMW 118d Stage 1 Performance Remap in Holmbush, St Austell

Today’s first job took us to Holmbush, St Austell, where we carried out a Stage 1 performance remap on this BMW 118d. These cars remain a popular choice in Cornwall thanks to their balance of economy, comfort and reliability, and they respond very well to a professional ECU calibration. Professional OBD Remapping with Correct Voltage Control BMW diesels of this era are usually a simple and reliable OBD job using our Alientech KESS 3, although later models (around 2020 onwards) require our Magic Motorsport FLEX due to increased ECU encryption. One common issue with BMWs is low system voltage during programming, which is why we always connect our CTEK professional battery conditioner when working on ECUs. Stable voltage is absolutely critical when reading or writing ECU data and is one of the small but important details that separates a professional remap from a risky one. Fortunately, this particular 118d had a brand new battery, giving us an excellent, stable voltage throughout the process. 👉 Learn more about our approach on the ECU Remapping page. Realistic Gains, Honest Expectations BMW 118d models use several engine variants depending on year and specification, so power gains can vary. From experience, we typically see

Peugeot 308 driving correctly after DPF and AdBlue software update in Cornwall.

Peugeot 308 2.0 HDi ECU Correction in St Austell

One of today’s mobile jobs took us to St Austell to work on this Peugeot 308 2.0 HDi, which had been suffering from fault codes and warning lights after some previous work. The owner had already carried out a physical DPF delete himself and correctly realised that the ECU software also needed adjusting for the car to operate properly. On inspection, we also identified that the vehicle had previously undergone an AdBlue delete, but was still logging NOx sensor communication fault codes. Correcting Previous ECU Work the Right Way We’ve worked on several Peugeot 308s over the years, and it’s not uncommon for us to see vehicles that have had incomplete or poorly implemented software solutions. This job itself was straightforward from a technical perspective, completed via the OBD port using our Alientech KESS 3. However, when the ECU file was analysed by our calibration partners at Viezu, they immediately confirmed the presence of a previous AdBlue delete. This highlights one of the key advantages of choosing Kernowsport — we’re backed by the UK’s largest and most experienced tuning company, giving us visibility and insight that many standalone tuners simply don’t have. 👉 Learn more about our approach on the

Audi A3 2.0 TDI EGR Delete at Praa Sands Holiday Park

This was our second EGR delete on the same Audi A3 2.0 TDI model in just three days, underlining just how common EGR-related faults are on these vehicles—particularly across the 2007–2013 model years. This particular car was an early 2007 Audi A3, suffering from the classic symptoms we see time and time again: Mobile ECU Work Near Penzance The job took us to Praa Sands Holiday Park near Penzance, making this the second vehicle we’ve repaired on-site within a week, the other being a BMW 3 Series. It was good to see the area recovering after recent storms. When we last visited, there was significant damage across the site, but this time most of the fallen trees and storm debris had been cleared, and things were starting to look more normal again. The Audi’s owner lives and works on site, so restoring reliable transport was essential. Professional EGR Delete Using Alientech KESS 3 We carried out the EGR software delete using our Alientech KESS 3, which is our go-to tool for Audi and VW Group vehicles. While we also run Magic Motorsport FLEX and Autotuner as backup systems, the KESS remains our daily driver due to its reliability and speed.
