The first job of the day took us to Penryn to work on not one, but two Fiat vehicles for Lionel—starting with a well-kept Fiat Ducato camper fitted with the 2.3D 150bhp engine. Lionel had been experiencing persistent EGR system problems that several local garages had been unable to resolve. With an upcoming trip planned, he needed a reliable solution—and that’s where Kernowsport came in. EGR Problems Resolved & Camper Power Boosted We quickly diagnosed and resolved the EGR issues, restoring proper operation and eliminating the faults that had been causing trouble. While we were there, Lionel opted to enhance the driving experience with a performance remap. The result?The Ducato camper was transformed from 150bhp to just under 190bhp, delivering: Perfect for touring Cornwall—or heading much further afield. Why Battery Conditioning Matters During ECU Work Interestingly, this particular ECU took almost an hour and a half to read. While unusual, some ECUs simply take longer, and patience is part of doing the job correctly. This is exactly why we always use a CTEK battery conditioner during remapping. Vauxhall Vivaro Life LWB AdBlue Countdown Resolved in Bodmin

Today’s job was unusual for a couple of reasons. First, our “customer” wasn’t the van’s owner—it was a garage in Liverpool. They had sold a Vauxhall Vivaro Life LWB to a gentleman in Bodmin, and when the vehicle developed an issue under warranty, they contacted Kernowsport to handle the local repair. Within an hour, we were on-site in Bodmin, ready to get the problem sorted. A Rare Vivaro Life – Sourced from Liverpool! The new owner told us he wanted this exact long-wheelbase Vivaro Life model, but couldn’t find one anywhere in the South West.So he travelled all the way to Liverpool to pick it up. Unfortunately, within a week the van began showing an AdBlue countdown—a common problem on this generation of Vivaro, especially around 2019. The base vehicle underneath is actually a 2.0D Vivaro van, which shares many components with the wider Stellantis range. Good News – The 2.0D Can Be Fixed via OBD Most Vivaro AdBlue jobs we see involve the 1.5D engine, which requires ECU removal—a more time-consuming process. But this one was the 2.0D, meaning we could complete the work directly through the OBD port, saving a huge amount of time and avoiding unnecessary dismantling.
